Well it’s time to test the new Bestop
Trektop NX Glide that we’ve just installed. So far it looks like the best top on the market. We’re doing the interior sound check for the new Bestop Trektop NX Glide just to see how quiet the soft top is on the inside. Given that Bestop’s fabric is actually specially designed as a soft top fabric to reduce the amount of noise that’s inside the cabin and they do that by putting a layer of neoprene in between the interior backing and the outside and so while I’ve been talking we’ve been doing 60 miles per hour, 100 kilometres per hour and actually the interior noise is pretty subdued. So let’s give you some kind of a guide to
comparison: turn on the fan in the Wrangler and if you have a Jeep Wrangler JKU, it will give you an idea of how noisy the soft top is and at the 5th setting, the fan inside the Jeep is actually noisier than the ambient noise on the outside. Now it’s time to do the interior
sound check but this time with the sunroof open and what we’re going to look for is
to see how much flutter, flap and wind noise is generated from the Sun Rider when it is in its open position. So at 80k, the Sun Rider fully open there’s definitely a little bit of interior wind but I certainly don’t have to yell in order to talk to people or answer the phone and opening a window doesn’t seem to make much difference. So let’s kick it up a notch and that is your wind noise at 100 k. So definitely gotta raise your voice a
little bit in order to be heard. Our final test of Bestop Trektop NX Glide is in the ‘4 Wheel Drive Monsoon Simulator’ also known as the touchless car wash. Well done Bestop. Monsoon season is over!
